Large continuous and extensive ski area
The Swiss ski resort Laax (Alpine Arena) is located on a sunny ‘terrace’ in Graubünden. The slopes extend from 1100 to 3018 meters above sea level and are primarily located above the tree-line. The Vorab glacier provides a reliable snow guarantee.
The village of Laax, together with Flims and Falera, is one of the largest continuous ski resorts offering well over 235 kilometers of slopes with plenty opportunities for novices and experienced skiers. With 29 lifts, the entire ski area is easily accessible from all surrounding villages.
There is a extensive range of wide and long descents that bridge a high altitude difference. The number of blue, red and black descents is about the same, which gives everyone the opportunity to have some fun in the snow. The lifts are particularly child- and snowboard friendly with easy entry and exit. Laax offers a modern ski arena with fast, comfortable lifts and cozy mountain cabins. Laax also has a lot to offer off-piste. There are more than 40 km of ungroomed downhill runs.
There are 60km of winter hiking trails in the area, 60km cross-country ski tracks, 33 bars and clubs, 20 mountain restaurants, 11 ski and snowboard rental points and 6 km of bobsleigh tracks. Finally there are 2 childcare facilities and a boardercross piste.
Graubünden snow guarantee
Due to the location of the slopes between 1100 and 3018 meters Laax ski resort is extremely snow proof. In addition, all downhill slopes can be covered in artificial snow if needed. The Vorab Glacier is situated at 3000 meters and sometimes people can be seen skiing here from mid-October.
Snowboard paradise Laax
The Laax arena is undoubtedly a snowboarding paradise. Snowboarders can alternate their time between the two fun parks with a separate lift or the three half pipes and monster pipes. There even is a mini-boardercross for the children.
Off-piste skiing and snowboarding
Winter sports enthusiasts who do not find skiing the prepared slopes challenging enough can fully enjoy themselves in Laax. The freeride descents are even highlighted in yellow on the ski area maps. It is possible to book a guide, as well as taking part in special courses for freerides.
For the little skiers
Laax-Flims-Falera offers excellent facilities for families with children. Right next to the valley station is magician Ami Sabi’s Snow Wonderland. Here the little ones can listen to exciting stories, sing songs, learn all about the forest, the animals, the mountains while being taught the first principles of skiing. As soon as the children have mastered their first turns, beautiful wide blue descents are waiting for them. Most ski lifts are child-friendly and safe with easy entry and exit.
The most beautiful ski slopes
This valley descent to Flims is of unprecedented beauty. Through a wide, winding path you slide past trees and rocky walls.
This long descent to Laax is recommended for the average skier and snowboarder. It’s a nicely sheltered descend for a large part between trees.
Ski route 71 Cassons
From the Cassons (2675m) you will find two beautiful ski runs, including number 71.
Après-ski in Laax-Flims-Falera
Modern and trendy Laax has plenty to offer in addition to skiing and snowboarding. Late afternoon the bars and terraces of the Crapbar, Iglu and Legna get busy. Around dinner time the bars become quieter and people move to the numerous charming restaurants. The mountain restaurant Tegia Larnags comes highly recommended. This delightful restaurant can be reached by foot in 20 minutes and you can catch a sleigh ride back to the village.
